Misa Edito:
New Year's with Germain and good friends, in New York City... I couldn't ask for anything more! We stayed with Christine and Abe in Queens for the New Year. Christine made a delicious spread of appetizers and champagne to hold us over from late afternoon until our late dinner and midnight toast. Everything was so good I practically had to roll to the local pub... where everybody knew their names :) and still managed to stuff a little more in! By the time we finished, midnight was drawing near... party hats and noise makers were handed out and champagne flowed like the Nile. The ball dropped and we kissed our loves into a new year... and the old one good-bye. An acquaintance mentioned something about Times Square being a ghost town just after the ball dropped- the only time you can see it that way, all year. Germain and I decided that that was worth seeing... Christine and Abe, being real New Yorkers, opted not to go for the deal. Unfortunately, we didn't leave enough time from the dropping of the ball to the escaping of the tourists! But, we did manage to see the remnants of a bitter cold, 8 hour hell-of-a-wait for 10 seconds of countdown, as confetti still waltzed in the air and snowed down upon us. |
