Germain Edito:
Knowing how the system worked for this "world fair", we were more prepared the following to deal with the "mob". We arrived early enough (nearly 2 hours before the gate opened riding one of the first train but still dozens if not hundreds of people were already there) and knew what we wanted to get reservation for most of the busiest pavilions, the corporate ones such as Toyota, Hitachi... Which for most of them, were impressing for the level of technology but not very entertaining. We visited the NEDO pavilion with its focus on the future robots generation which were very contrasted with the huge Africa pavilion where inside many countries were sharing its space. We also went to see the frozen mammoth, a big topic of this universal exposition and I have to say its state of conservation for its age was remarkable, you could still see its fur (the one we were taken picture in front was of course a replica). Another spent at the expo, we were wasted on the evening, and we got back to our Ryokan around 9-10pm right before passing out after a quick shower... |
