Misa Edito:
We left Tōkyō Station a little before midnight and woke up to a sunny Nagoya day, just before 6AM. We took the day to enjoy the city…catch the sights…eat the local specialty. Nagoya is a pleasant change from Tōkyō- big, wide street and sidewalks (rebuilt in grid fashion post WWII- a relief for the directionally challenged, like myself), more greenery making it seem cooler than it was, and a castle in the middle of town! The Nagoya castle (名古屋城), gorgeous and historical on the outside, was little more than a carnival inside. Step right up… there’s juggling entertainment, long lines, parallel stairwells and reproduction everything! But it was a clear, beautiful day, and the lines and lack of sleep just served to prep us for the days to come… AICHI EXPO! (愛知万博) |
