We heard about this event from a friend, and we definitely wanted to go there, unfortunately Misa had to work on Saturday so I went there by myself but ready to take enough pictures and video for Misa (and you) to feel like you were there with me. I rode the whole Tōkyō Metro Ginza line (東京メトロ銀座線) from Shibuya (渋谷) to Asakusa station (浅草駅). I arrived at Sumida Park (隅田公園) around 2pm and they had already started. Yabusame (流鏑馬) (
more information) is a performance of ancient martial skills (Archery on Horseback), as quasi rituals. The show is very impressive, the rider gallops very quickly and even though he is quite close to the target (there is three of them every 50m, I would say) the performance is still great (they missed it almost half of the time).
