Misa Edito:
On this first beautiful, warm, spring day Miyuki Kanda (Germain’s boss) had organized a cherry blossom party. Additionally fortunate, this was Èmilie’s first trip to Japan- her first weekend and her first
hanami (花見->flower+watch) party.
The picnic, on the first Sunday to kick off the week long sakura (桜) blooming, was held in Yoyogi Park (
代々木公園). As the sun rode through its field of blue, the party bloomed like our surroundings. What started as a few co-workers and room-mates sharing introductions, laughs and sun blossomed into about 35 international, 6-degrees-of-separation strangers who left the stars and moon with memories of new friends and techno beats under a canopy of pink.
The tradition of picnicking under the blossoming (or in our case: soon to be in bloom) cherry blossoms was followed by… what else: a pizza dinner ;) And for those who didn’t get their fill of dancing in the pavilion, the party then moved from the restaurant to Salsa dancing. Cherry blossom celebrations… a good excuse for good food, fun times and fast friends!
